Sunsetting over sastrugi
This is the kind of terrain that we were skiing on. It is called sastrugi, when the ice gets blown around and forms little ridges. When the surface becomes raised, the snow builds up what we call a blizztail on the downwind side of it, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Then the surface becomes icy in parts, and snowy in others - makes sure you are concentrating all the time when you hit slippery patches!!!
